審査員 Judges

Mark Hale is originally from Kentucky in the United States where he was born into a family of musicians. Mark’s mother and father were both professors of vocal music at the local university. 

His introduction into the Barbershop Harmony Society began in 1983 shortly after his participation in a high school production of The Music Man where he was cast as the lead of the quartet. Mark joined the local barbershop chorus at age 16 beginning what is currently a 42-year love affair with barbershopping. 

Over those years Mark distinguished himself as both a quartetter, singing lead with the 2001 International Quartet Champions Michigan Jake, and a chorus director winning four gold medals leading the Masters of Harmony Chorus from Los Angeles. He began arranging barbershop music shortly after joining the BHS in 1983 and has been a Music and Musicality Judge from 1993 to the present. 

Mark was honored with the Joe Liles Lifetime Achievement Award for Directing in 2012. He is currently living in Phoenix, AZ.

Sean Devine brings over 25 years of professional stage experience, design, and education to our barbershop community.  He is a sought-after coach and clinician, certified Performance Judge, and champion quartet singer with OC Times.  

Born and raised in "The Sweetest Place on Earth" – Hershey, Pennsylvania (USA), Sean began his professional career touring with America's Premier Doo-Wop Group, The Alley Cats.  

For the last 10 years he has sung lead with Throwback, 7-time International Quartet Medalists, and currently serves as Artistic Director of the award-winning chorus, Parkside Harmony (2023 BHS International Silver Medalists).

Ryan Wisniewski comes from a non-musical family. It wasn't until his sixth grade choir class that he started singing, and until his freshman year of high school that he was introduced to barbershop. At the age of 14, it was this exposure that paved the way to a lifelong obsession. 

He started out his barbershop journey out in the Far Western District, where he served a number of roles as a member of five different chapters, was fortunate to win a number of gold medals with both The Westminster Chorus and Masters of Harmony, as well as find great success with The Newfangled Four, 2013 International Collegiate Champions and perennial Top 10 quartet finalist. 

Since relocating to Dallas, TX, he has taken up a position as the Private Vocal Instructor of the Vocal Majority, teaches private voice full time at both high schools in Wylie ISD, and is a well sought after coach and clinician within the Southwestern District. 

Ryan and his wonderful wife Rebecca reside in Wylie, TX with their four "fur children," and enjoys life as an avid gamer and collector when not singing.
